FAQs

We believe that clear information leads to better healthcare decisions. Our FAQ section is designed to give you quick, reliable answers to the most common questions about our clinic, services, and patient process. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a returning patient, this page provides the guidance you need for a smooth and confident healthcare experience.

1. What makes GEEN different from other longevity clinics?

As board-certified geneticists leveraging our AI-powered platform, we are able to provide your virtual, genetic testing evaluation and test ordering in real-time, expediting the results you need for your cancer treatment. This is in contrast to many clinics that have weeks- to months-long appointment wait times. We estimate your prescription for genomic biopsy and genetic testing will be issued within 72 hours after your evaluation request is submitted, and clinical indication for genetic testing confirmed.

2. Is this covered by insurance?

No, we do not accept commercial insurance. We operate on a private-pay basis to maintain maximal privacy, personalization and flexibility. We provide a Superbill which can be submitted to insurance. Most patients who submit the provided Superbill to insurance get a portion reimbursed, however we cannot do this on your behalf.

3. Do I need a referral to get genetic testing?

No referral is needed. You may request genetic testing evaluation and genomic biopsy services on behalf of yourself. Your oncologist or other licensed healthcare professional may also refer you to us for genetic testing evaluation and genomic biopsy services.

4. How do I know if I qualify for testing?

Most patients recently or previously diagnosed with cancer have a clinical indication for genomic biopsy and genetic testing. Each clinical genetic testing evaluation request is evaluated by a clinical geneticist based on your clincial information and medical history to determine your indication for testing.

5. Is the genetic testing physician-directed?

Yes. All genomic biopsies and genetic testing are reviewed and ordered by licensed physicians, board-certified in clinical genetics.

6. How long does it take to receive my test kit?

Once prescribed your genomic biopsy kit is typically shipped to your home within a few business days. We estimate your prescription for genomic biopsy and genetic testing will be issued within 72 hours after your evaluation request has been submitted.

7. How long does it take to get my results?

Results are usually available within 2-4 weeks after your genomic biopsy sample is received by the laboratory.

8. Is my personal and health information secure?

Yes. All data is handled through secure, HIPAA-compliant systems to protect your privacy.

9. Will a doctor explain my results to me?

Your results are reviewed, forwarded to your treating physician to use in your treatment plan and made available to you through your account in our patient portal (free registration required). You have the opportunity to meet with a genetic counselor at the genetic testing lab to further discuss the results, if you choose.

10. Can genetic testing help guide my medical care?

Yes. Genetic test results are required for many FDA-approved precision cancer therapies, for enrollment in certain clinical treatment trials, and are important for you and your primary physician to develop a plan to prevent future cancer.

11. Can I access my results online?

Yes. All approved patients receive secure online access through our patient portal after completing the free registration.
